Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum Review: Director Youreka’s latest outing Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum has garnered more expectation on the film ever since the film has been discussed on online platforms. The film was completed two and half years ago, but wasn’t released yet. It is because of the controversial subject that the film is dealing with and finally the film will see the light of the day.
The film is bankrolled by J Satish Kumar under JSK Film Corporation banner, which was better known for releasing quality small budget Tamil movies. The film was certified with ‘A’ certificate that’s not because of the sleazy content but for the movie itself, which is suited for Adults. However, there’s no hardcore galmaour content in the film which throws light on sex workers and sex education.
Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum Movie Story & Review
The film throws light on the life of sex workers and why they were pushed to the red light career. Sandra Amy, as Magima is a sex worker in the integral part of Chennai. The director Youreka double up as a journalist who visits a red light area in the city to learn about them to write up a novel. There he ends up meeting Magima, who describes five incidents in her life, about five different men and their problems. Those five events touches different verticals of men. They do not visit red light area only for sex desires but also they have other reasons to take care. Also, the film tells that not all sex workers do come to red light area on their own interest but they were trapped and pushed without their will and that turn to be their life.
The film insists that Chennai should have its own red light area and prostitution should be legalised. Just like Mumbai, when the city has its own red light area, apparently the prostitution will be streamlined. The film ends with an emotional climax, though the film didn’t create a strong impact.
With limited cast, Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum travels on the shoulders of Sandra. She steals the show, though, she has to improvise a lot. Performance wise, except Sandra non of them scores. The background score might be a goof relief taking us through the movie. The film failed to satisfy the audience because of the weak screenplay and there is no engaging elements as well.
To sum up, Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum is good attempt which throws light on sex education and of course, it’s a one time watchable flick.
